The Illumination Process acc to Paul F. Case

Paul Foster Case an Adept of the Golden Dawn and also founded his own order called The Builders of the Adytum (http://www.bota.org/). I consider this author one of the greater and most advanced Rosicrucians of modern times. In his book "The True and Invisible Rosicrucian Order" (http://www.amazon.com/True-Invisible-Rosicrucian-Order-Interpretation/dp/0877287090), he makes the connection between the Rosicrucian mysticism and Caballa revealing the deeper meanings of the Rosicrucians old and obscured symbols. For example, from the CR+C Vault, he gives us information of the utmost importance as a result of the de-codification of the Vault symbolism: The Enlightment process.

He says that the true source of the Divine Light (such as Interior Light as explained in the Fama), is drawn from our Sun, the central star of our solar system and responsible for all life on Earth.

According to PFC, the Enlightment process is the result of an energy conversion using a particular and secret alchemical knowledge. He says that the process of Enlightment requires physical and metaphysic aspects to happen. This process involves changes in blood constitution, changes in the brain, and change in the structure and function of the body cells, culminating with the creation of a new "body light" or "Solar" body. With this new "body" we will be able, after the death of the physical body, to commune with the highest consciousness who reside in the Sun, the star of our planetary system. This is the highest stage of alchemical spiritual transformation.

Which comes in accordance with the information provided by the HOGD as taught in the 3 degrees of the third Order of HOGD (http://www.hermeticgoldendawn.org/) (8, 9 and 10 degrees).

The HOGD says that the stars are the environment in which highest planetary consciousnesses evolve.

In fact, my initial experience in the initial grades of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn seems to support these affirmations. As I recall, the work I have experienced with AMORC (http://www.amorc.org/) is particularly related to the psychic centres (Chakras) confined to the head and the thorax. It turns out that, as expected, the HOGD works with these centres but extends the development work beyond the body, using centres like the one below of feet (our connection with the planetary energy) and the one above our head (the seat of the “Higher Self” or our “I inside”).

What I have experienced with various exercises (so-called rituals in GD) and with a particularly one called the Middle Pillar ritual is that all my body centres have been energized from that one above the head (let's call it the eighth Centre, Kether) flowing energy for all others until riching the one below the feet, causing deep vibrations throughout my body and establishing a divine Light connection to the stars (the deepest structures the universe) creating the real manifestation of the R+C.

Each time I'm more confident that the lessons of the GD were designed for advanced students in the path and not for beginners. This is also confirmed by the testimony of HOGD when they say that they accept in the Order those who already have a history and practise of mystical study.

That also rings the bell when I read AMORC’s 11 degree (written by HSL) saying that advancements in Rosicrucians studies can only be found in the GD...

Wery interesting information. So Lewis actually said this in his 11 degree teachings?

  2. Yes Frater Sincerus Renatus, it is exactly like that. I have the AMORC Monograph in my hands. To be more precised the reference can be found in the 11 Degree Temple, Moography 9 where HSL mencion the Order of the Golden Dawn, the highest Rosicrucian development", "They are the only ones who knows the true work of the R+Cs." I can add to compliment that the AMORC grade structure, until 2000 was exactly the same as the GD (until the 10th Degree). After that they added 3 more degrees. Now they start to change the grade names.

  3. Another interesting connection between the exercises performed in AMORC and GD is related to the creation of the 3 circles of protection and atunement (9 Degree Temple).

In that specific case (for the 3 circles), AMORC teaches it in a single lesson saying that its purpose is to allow the student to atune with the Cosmic level. Insolating themselves progressively from each level of vibration (physical, astral and finally focusing in the Cosmic level. All it’s done with a single visualization exercise using the student own mental capabilities.

However, if we consider the GD routine of rituals LBPR + LHPR + LBPR (where we create 3 flaming circles) we can see that we need more than mere visualization to draw all the energies required to achieve the purpose of this exercise. Also we realize that the exercise (rituals) were designed to rich far more than a simple atonement.

  4. Another piece of the puzzle:
FUDOSI, was founded in 14th august 1934, Bruxels (Belgium) by Émile Dantinne (Sâr Hiéronymus). That organisation included the elite of initiates of that time, all of them using the title Sâr + a sacred name to identify themselves.
    For instance:
    - Émile Dantinne (Sâr Hiéronymus)
    - Jean Mallinger (Sâr Elgin)
    - Harvey Spencer Lewis (Sâr Alden)
    - Jeanne Guesdon (Sâr Puritia)
    - Léon Lelarge (Sâr Agni)
    - Josephin Péladan (Sâr Merodack)
    - Victor Blanchard (Sâr Yésir)
    Considering:
Meaning of Sâr: initiated who is "sacerdos in aeternum".
Sâr, title reserved to a few leaders or initiates of high degree in the mystic world. Egyptian origin meaning son of the Sun (Sa = Son and R or Ra or Re = Sun).
    Conclusion:
I saw those reference for years, mentioned in so many places that they became invisible to me. Until, now. So what Order or organization those initiates are related to? What initiation gave them that title (Sâr)?
Are this organization related to the Sacred Chiefs or the Invisible Rose-Croix? What are they role in the development of all mystical and magical Western schools?

    1. Thanks Michael for the link, I copied all 4 parts to my iPad for further reading.
BTW: Do you have interest in the Rosicrucian developments including AMORC and Golden Dawn? If so, I would recommend reading the research series The Rise of the Adepti. You find the links at the beginning of this post.
